One Week at the Beach

Mckinley spent her one week birthday at the beach.
Hunter wasn't too sure of the water at first, and had to have Pa with him.

It wasn't very long and he was running up and down the beach by himself. He was very careful not to go too far into the water. He had a blast splashing everyone.

Then he found the sea gulls. He chased all of them until they had flown away. It took him quite a while, but he didn't rest until they were all gone!

At the end of the day Hunter could barely keep his eyes open. He had to be carried to the car.

We had a great time!! Thanks for the idea Pa!!

Fathers and Sons

Because this is what happened when Erik tried to take Hunter to the stake Fathers and Sons campout . . . .

They decided to have their own campout in the dining room. We found a little tent at Ikea, and they had a blast. They had camping snacks (crackers), played games, and read stories.

This was probably the only time Erik actually slept. You see, we have an energizer bunny for a son. He never stops moving, even when he's sleeping. Erik was kicked, poked, and talked to all night long. It was a good thing daddy was a great sport!

Pirates and the Temple

We found a wonderful (although kind of scandalous) Pirate Festival. We had fun walking around looking at all of the elaborate costumes. Here are some of our favorites. This first one reminded me of "Smee" off of Hook.It truly was a pirate village. Every one was drinking "ale" and there were a lot of wenches (notice none of them made it into any of our pictures). Some had parrots and we even saw some real swords.

This next guy went all out. Notice the creepy eyes. I noticed them from a ways away. It totally creeped me out!

Later that day we made our way to Oakland to visit the temple and the Visitor's Center. We had a wonderful time walking around the temple grounds. It was so peaceful and exactly opposite the Pirate Festival.

Ready to be a big brother!

As I was washing the swing and the carseat to get them ready for our new little arrival, Hunter ran and grabbed his babies. He put one in the carseat and had me buckle it in, and then he put the other in the swing. Here he is rocking and bouncing his babies. He was very soft with both of them.

Not too long after the babies were buckled in Hunter ran to his room and found the bottle. He had me hand him one of his babies and fed it while watching one of his shows.
I think we're ready for the baby!
