Madelynn turns 3

Madelynn turned 3! 

She wasn't so sure at first... We got a lot of pictures with grumpy faces.

She quickly warmed up when she saw the decorations.

(Thank heaven for Erik. I was so sick and he stayed up late decorating)

She was so happy once she realized the presents were for her.

We went to the zoo with our friends, the Snelsons. 

The kids were so much fun to watch.

Here they were talking with a keeper about caring for the animals.

The whole trip she was so concerned to see if giraffes have eyebrows. 

They do not, for those of you wondering. But the do have KILLER eyelashes.

This is how Madelynn spells her name. I know it will end all too soon, but this is how she wanted it put on her cake, and I couldn't refuse.

Disneyland

We went to Disneyland again.

We found a few new friends, as well as some old ones.

Hunter really didn't like Minnie. She was very loving, but girls still have cooties!

This is how I told my brother I was expecting. 

He wasn't at home for Christmas, so he didn't get the announcement with everyone else.

 This is my proudest Disney moment!!

 I had gotten in line behind like 6 women in power scooters. 

I was kind of annoyed, but when I was on the ride, I realized how good I had it.

The ride stopped about 4 times while I was on the ride. 

At the end I knew I had a good score when I had all 9s.

I didn't know how high my score was until the end of the ride.

YES, that is me on the top!!

It held for at least 5 hours.

It rained while we were there, but we were prepared. 

Shower curtains are heaven sent during the rain at Disneyland!

Quick get away to Santa Rosa

We were able to sneak away for a quick two night getaway.

We had problems with housekeeping. When we got to our room there was apple bits inside the sheets. 

When we complained to the front desk they sent someone up right away to change the bed. She brought queen sized sheets for a king sized bed. This picture is her idea of how the bed should be made. We were short sheeted. Literally. We complained and got free massages at the spa!

 We also found out that we were expecting our fourth baby. We were thrilled!

We stopped at a bunch of antique shops on our way to the beach.

Found some really interesting things, but bought nothing.

We had a relaxing afternoon at the beach. We read and played in the ocean.

That night we went to opening night of Catching Fire. 

November 2013

This year right before my birthday my dad was hospitalized with a most severe case of pancreatitis.

We didn't know if he was going to survive. He was in terrible pain 24 hours a day.

I couldn't stand the thought of him in the hospital and being two states away.

So I hopped in the car with Mckinley and Madelynn and we drove to Utah to surprise him.

He gave me the best present and came home the day before my birthday.

My family gave me a birthday party while I was in town.

KYLIE!! The balloons!! I had totally forgotten!

(My sister took some balloons to the young man in the room next door to my dad.

Mostly a dare!)

Happy Birthday Hunter

This year Hunter turned 7.

He had to crawl through this mess to get out of his room on his birthday!

He was spoiled!

Since this was an off year for birthday parties, he got to invite his best friends to dinner and bowling.

Happy Halloween

Halloween this year was so much fun.

We had our traditional eyeball soup. (tomato soup with ping pong eye balls)

We went to the ward Trunk or Treat.

 Mckinley was Cinderella

Hunter was Ben 10.

Madelynn was Izzy from Jake and the Neverland Pirates.

Erik and I went as Wreck it Ralph and Vanellope.
