Redwoods

Since Erik had a week off of school, we decided to make the most of our time and go camping in one of the state parks up north. We picked out where we wanted to stay and spent the 4 hours in the car to get there. Hunter was a happy traveler as always and loved having the movies in the car. (Thanks to my dad!!) We stopped about an hour away from our camp site at a drive through tree.
Hunter loved carrying sticks around. It seemed he always had one in his hands. He hit everything he could with them.

We made it to our campground just before the rangers left and were able to buy some fire wood. The only thing is the firewood was wet. Erik had a hard time starting the fire, but with the use of about half of one of his notebooks he was able to get a fire started. Here is a picture of our little campsite. We want to go back, so if anyone would like to join us, let us know when you can go!

We got Hunter his own little camp chair. He loved it and even when we got home he was asking for it.

I had made tin foil dinners for us, but they were taking forever to cook. Hunter was starving and it was a good thing I packed the hot dogs. Hunter helped Erik cook them and loved every minute.

Here they are in a "clubhouse" that Hunter found. He loved to explore.

This tree is 346 feet tall and over 40 feet all the way around. Looking up you couldn't see the top. I was amazed at how tall all these trees were. There were many we found that were hollow and Hunter loved to go inside with daddy.
